I loved the new animated film “Loving Vincent,” which was hand painted by 100 artists in the Van Gogh style. The film inspired me to see how good, a digital oil painting effect I could get on my IPad Pro. I used the KDAN animation program, to sketch the animation, and painted the individual frames in a paint program, Art Set Pro. Background is repeated every 4 frames. It was worth the extra effort to use the paint program.

Penguins Can’t Fly
Even though this is not improvised. I thought I would post it here since I showed the pencil test here. I actually finished it last fall.
I plan to put this exercise of spontaneous animation into play. I’ve not really focused on it yet, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do.
Penguin Pencil Test
This is what’s been keeping me from doing Improv Animation on this site. Here is a pencil test of “Penguins Can’t Fly” without the ending. Some of the pauses will be longer than this version. Animation is being created solely on the Ipad. I will return to do more Improvimation, when I’m finished in mid August of this year.
I’m a Lil Grumpy Teapot
An experiment in the fluidity of inanimate objects. I started with a circle, and what did I see? I’m still working on what my process could be. Suggestions for process are appreciated.
Poor Froggy
For my first animated improvs it had to be a frog. They are one of my favorite creatures. No frogs were hurt in this animation. The splat sound was made by throwing an egg in the kitchen sink.
